The earliest of three progenitor stallions to the modern Thoroughbred. Believed to have been captured by
Captain Robert Byerley at the Battle of Buda (1686). Served as Byerley's war horse in Ireland in 1689 during
King William's War as well as the Battle of the Boyne.

A dark brown stallion with strong oriental or Arabian features: large eyes, arched neck and high tail carriage.
